SA Cyber Skills

As part of AUCyberWeek2020 activities, the SA Node was delighted to officially launch the SA Cyber Skills Dashboard & Report 2020, developed by SA cyber professional, Nicole Theresa Moore on behalf of the SA Node.

Cyber Security already has an astonishing global skill shortage of almost 1.9 million positions sitting vacant. This forecasted growth of demand for new cyber security professionals (estimated at 17,000 by 2026 in Australia alone) demonstrates that Cyber security is a rapidly growing industry with high demand for workers. SA has a critical need for delivering skilled cyber security professionals.

This provides key insights into our state’s cyber capabilities and skills, whilst serving to help inform where investments into cyber education and recruitment will be best made. This work will enhance the existing information already compiled by AustCyber in their mission to ensure Australia has sovereign capability and home-grown talent.

This interactive dashboard will help students plan their cyber security career through a better understanding of available skills and training opportunities in South Australia, how they align to the NICE framework roles, and where there are gaps based on what demand industry has.
