Export is one of our three strategic objectives:
The global cyber security market is currently worth over USD$130 billion and is growing rapidly. In 2017, Australia's revenue from cyber security was around AU$2 billion. We have an amazing opportunity to grow that revenue and become a global industry leader.
Through our Cyber Security Sector Competitiveness Plan we have identified that Australia can compete most effectively in cyber security software and services. This requires us to focus on better commercialisation pathways for our world-leading cyber security research.
We use market intelligence to identify high value international markets for Australian cyber security solutions. Priority markets include the United States, the ASEAN region and the United Kingdom.
Our work with a range of partners both in Australia and overseas creates opportunities for Australian cyber security businesses to sell their solutions to offshore buyers and attract global investors. Our partnerships with Austrade and others to deliver trade delegations and showcase events help Aussie cyber companies engage with potential customers and investors in target countries.
We also support Australian companies to develop scalable service delivery models, work to attract multinationals to use Australia as base for reach into the Indo-Pacific region and develop cyber security as educational export.
